the second day of spring
has it easy
no one steps outside
looking for him
to have had prepared
a diorama of hope
so huge it crushes
all memory of being cold
instead people just enjoy
whatever warmth there is
the second day of spring
just waltzes in all breezy
carefree never wondering
who kicked down the doors of winter
who shattered the shackles of despair
yeah that's right it was me
driving darkness back
making way for him
to just sit there
and smile
that smug smile
i'd get up and punch him
except, well,
it was a long night last night
springwine was everywhere and
dancing with dryads and
maybe i'll just lie here
for a while
