you are bitter and hateful
i am simply speaking the truth
you are a brainwashed acolyte
in a bizarre and harmful cult
i am a staunch ally of those
with courage enough to stand up to evil
what i am trying to explain is
this is how we sound to each other
when we speak of something
that really matters

to be better than monkees
we don't need to find common ground
and have peaceful palaver
we need to care enough
to spit fire and lightning
at each other
without ever believing
that we are enemies
